Exams
Final Exam
-
Date: Monday, Dec 11, 2006
-
Place and Time: In usual classroom, at 1:30-4:20pm
-
Format:  40 Multiple Choice with 5 short essay and
2 long essay questions
-
Bring:
- Yourself, well-rested and well-studied
- You may also bring 1 piece of regular,
8.5"× 11" paper with notes written on it. You may
write or print whatever notes or diagrams
you like on (both sides of) the paper.
I don't care if it handwritten, printed, or whatever. It is
a very good idea to write your own sheet, as the exercise of deciding what
is important, organizing it, and writing it down, is a good way to study.
- Topics:  All topics from class may be covered. However, special
emphasis will be placed on the material from after the midterm exam.
Lecture, reading material, homework, and class presentations are included.
My goal is to test for understanding of the concepts we have discussed, and how they fit together.

Study tips:  We have covered a lot of material in a short time,
so here are some tips on how to approach your studies
for the exam.
- As noted above, lecture, reading material, homework,
and class presentations can be included.
However, note that topics covered in lecture are an
indication of what I think is the most important material,
so these are worth special focus.
- Keep in mind that this class tells a story of extraterrestrial life.
I will expect you to know the large
scale story with some details to help explain it best.
