Observing

"Virtual" Observing at the Planetarium

Download the observing form before you go.

Sessions will be held on the following days:

Sessions begin at 6:45 pm.

Due on March 4th.

Stardial Observing #1

Carefully read and follow the downloadable instructions and report form..

Due on Feb. 11th.

Night Observing

Register for dates and more information at http://www.astro.illinois.edu/classes/obs.shtml.
Make sure to register for the observation at http://www.astro.illinois.edu/classes/nightobs/reservation.php and download the observing form before you go.

Sessions will be held on the following days:

Sessions begin at 8:00 pm. You will need to spend 45 mins to 1 hour at the observatory, so make sure to dress appropriately. Make sure to check the status of the observing before you go. It maybe cancelled, due to weather.

Due on March 18th.

Solar Observing

Check webpage for dates and more information at http://www.astro.illinois.edu/classes/obs.shtml.
For solar observing you do not need to register, but you must still download the observing form before you go.

Sessions are from 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM at the observatory 12 inch telescope. You may arrive whenever you want, but you should allow enough time to spend about 20-30 minutes once you arrive. Make sure to check the status of the observing before you go. It may be cancelled, due to weather.

Due on April 15th.

Stardial Observing #2
