Night Observing

For more information go to http://www.astro.illinois.edu/classes/nightobs/.
Make sure to register for the observation at http://www.astro.illinois.edu/classes/nightobs/reservation.php and download the observing form before you go.

Sessions will be held on the following days:

Sessions begin at 7:00 pm and end at 9:00pm. You will need to spend 45 mins to 1 hour at the observatory. In other words, do not show up at 8:30pm and expect to finish before the session is closed. In addition, make sure to dress appropriately. Make sure to check the status of the observing before you go. It maybe cancelled, due to weather.

Due on April 12th in your discussion class.

Night Observing Make-up or Extra-Credit

Due to the bad weather for night lab, I will accept a Night Observing Make-up assignment instead. It is not a simple assignment, but it should be somewhat fun. If you have already done the night-lab, then you can do this assignment for extra credit as well. The extra credit value will be 1% to your final grade. If you choose to do it as an extra cedit assignment, clearly mark it as such. The directions for the assignment can be found here.

Due on April 12th in your discussion class.
