Jaipur - Nahargarh (Tiger Fort)

November 7, 2001

The Nahargarh (Tiger Fort) was build in 1734 on a hill overlooking city of Jaipur. While part of its purpose is to be a fortification, it was primarily built to house the 9 wives of the local Majaraja. Each wife had a separate apartment with its own kitchen.

Today, the main reason to visit the fort is to enjoy its beautiful views of Jaipur and the surrounding country side.
