Delhi - Friends we met in India

November 11, 2001



While we were in Delhi, we had the pleasure of spending an afternoon and an evening with the family of my best friend Vandana Purohit. We joined Vandana's Uncle Hari Har Paliwal, Prem Kuwar, and cousins Gajju, Madhu, and Geetu for a wonderful lunch.

After lunch we went to Vandana's Cousin's Mohan & Lata's apartment for a visit. They live a few blocks away from the Paliwal's apartment. Lata is Hari's daughter and Gajju and Geetu's sister.

It was a wonderful afternoon and we were grateful to Mohan and Lata for inviting us back to join them on our last night in India. We joined them in their Dewali prayers and a delicious dinner - it was a very special evening for us. We were sad to say goodbye to them at the airport that evening.

We met up with Anshuman Seth, a colleague of Leslie S.'s, during our last days in Delhi for dinner at the rotating restaurant near Connaught Place. The food was great and it was really great to see Anshuman again. Unfortunately, we were also supposed to meet another colleague, Manav Khanna, but the timing didn't work out. We did have the pleasure of meeting Anshuman's friend, Hema.
